God is Saving The Lives of College Students! - Beginning of Semester Ministry Update
As we were entering this new semester of ministry, we started by prepping for numerous things: our plans for the new semester on campus, our national student conference, our student leaders retreat, etc. While there were many things to get ready for, our main goal remained and remains the same: that college students would experience the salvation of our Lord through the message of the gospel. The core of why we do all that we do is that eternal destinies would be shifted and earthly realities align to God's will.
The new year began with our ENC Conference in Orlando, Fl, where 2,700+ college students spanning 30 nations came together to worship Jesus. Of this 2,700+ we brought 45 students on a 14 hour bus ride from DC to Florida for a life changing experience. 4 of the students we brought gave their lives to Christ and 8 students ended up getting baptized. This was also our first conference for our 3 new missionaries as leaders! Words can't capture all the impactful moments from the conference: new life from the Lord, forgiveness where there was unforgiveness, purposes being clarified, and so much else. And this was only the start, in our first three weeks on campus we have had 3 students begin to follow the Lord Jesus! One of these students is Lauren. She has grown up in church and known about God for her whole life, however, she lacked a personal relationship with Jesus. As Kalylyn and I got a chance to hear her story and preach the gospel, she was convicted that there was something missing from her pursuit of God: personal acknowledgment of who He is and what He has done for her. She received Jesus as Lord and has been meeting with us weekly ever since!
I'm encouraged in how much has happened and the fact that this is still the beginning of the semester. We have so much more that we are seeing God use for His glory: Campus Sunday, our joint Large Group with our chapters at George Mason and NOVA, multiple missions trips, and so much else. While what we are doing is taking on many different forms, we are sticking to that one goal I mentioned earlier: that college students would experience the salvation of our Lord through the message of the gospel. We are praying and believing that we would see 50 students led to Jesus by other students by the end of this semester! Thank you for you partnership, your belief in the power of the gospel and the God we serve! You are helping to do what none of us can do alone: bring salvation to the college campus. If you change the campus, you change the world!
