Summer Nights & Fall Days (The Semester Has Begun!)
Today marks a week since we've had our first days back on campus and I have been reflecting on all God has done to lead us here. These first days back at the George Washington University have been refreshing catching up with students and reminiscing on how much they have grown since we first met them. Some of these students are now student leaders, when we met them they were riddled with anxiety, worry, fear, depression, etc and they were building a life with no foundation. This is a testament to the transformative power of Jesus Christ that the old has truly been washed away and the new has come!
Coming into this year we have 10 new student leaders across our three main campuses: 4 at George Washington, 4 at Howard, 2 at Maryland. This is a huge answer to prayer because we were praying for more freshman to get connected last year and not only did many freshman get connected but all of our new leaders are from that group of freshman that the Lord connected to us. And we have seen so much growth in this group even during this past summer leading up to this semester. They lead our 8-week summer prayer and discipleship series called "Summer Nights". During this series, they helped to lead our other students to steward and grow in their faith which also allowed our full time staff to focus on connecting with you, our ministry partners.
This group of leaders is a tangible sign of what Jesus is doing in our midst. I am full of hope and joy in anticipation of what the Lord will do this semester because of what He already done in and through them. Our heart and goal is to continue to build these amazing leaders to be more confident in who they are in Christ and how to share that with those in their sphere of influence. I am truly grateful for your partnership in the gospel that allows me to continue to share the grace and gospel of Jesus Christ on the college campus!
"my little children, for whom I am again in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you!"

- For students become deeply rooted in their identity in Christ and begin to invite others into relationship with Christ on a greater scale
- For our student leaders to grow in the leadership and to be confident in their ability to disciple other students
- For 50 students to sign up to go to the Fall Retreat happening September 29th to October 1st
- For more students to hear and respond to the gospel
